About Waveform Visualization

A waveform displays the amplitude (loudness) of an audio signal over time. The vertical axis represents amplitude, while the horizontal axis represents time.

Reading Waveforms:
  • Height: Taller waves = louder audio
  • Density: Dense waves = higher frequency content
  • Flat sections: Silence or very quiet audio
  • Clipping: Waves that hit top/bottom = potential distortion
